The most commonly used quality roof systems are single ply EPDM rubber membrane, Tremco, Modified Bitumen and Hot asphalt systems. Q. What is the best roof system on the market today? A. Not necessarily will any one of the above mentioned roof systems fit all applications. Therefore, it is important that you select a roofing company that is well versed in the above systems so that they may help you select the best application and the most cost effective to suit your needs. Q. What is a rubber roof? A. Rubber is an EPDM membrane sheet similar to the inner tube of a tire. It is available in a number of sizes from 4 1/2 ft. up to 50 ft. wide and 50 ft. up to 200 ft. long, which allows you to cover a larger area with a limited amount of seams. Note: Modified bitumen which comes in a standard one meter wide roll is commonly mistaken for a rubber roof but should not be taken as such. Q. What are your capabilities of executing a large project? A. As you will note in our portfolio, we have successfully completed some of the largest projects both re-roofing and new construction in Essex County. Our ability to successfully execute and perform on large projects is due to having a long history of experience, maintaining a high level of quality standards with our employees and having the most mechanized equipment available. Q. Which system carries the best warranty? A. A single ply EPDM roof system carries a standard 5, 10 or 15 year NON PRO-RATED labour and material system warranty. A Tremco roof system offers 10 and 15 year (labour and material) warranties on its roof restoration and replacement systems. Modified bitumen 10 year limited roof system warranties are generally pro-rated (they normally do not cover workmanship defects) and will cover manufacturers membrane material defects ONLY Hot asphalt roof systems generally come with a standard 2 year workmanship warranty. Variations and combinations of select materials such as fiberglass felts and modified bitumen base flashings may qualify for an extended manufacturers warranty up to 5 or 10 years. |
